Teamsters Local 120 members employed at SuperValu's flagship distribution center in Hopkins, MN ratified a new three year contract by a 15-to-1 margin. "By standing shoulder-to-shoulder against a determined employer, we were able to hammer out a contract that delivers for our members despite these difficult economic times," said Local 120 President Brad Slawson, Jr. The deal:
- Preserved 100% employer paid healthcare.
- Secured across-the-board wage increases.
- Protected pension eligibility and benefits.
- Reduced the number of part time employees.
- Added an additional double time paid holiday.
- Improved the flexibility of vacation scheduling.
An overwhelming majority of members obviously agreed with Business Agent Tom Erickson's statement that, "In my 27 years as a SuperValu member, I've never been more proud of how everyone stuck together through some tough negotiations."
"Once again, Teamsters Local 120 rose to the challenge and bargained an industry-leading contract," according to Local 120 Secretary-Treasurer and International Vice President Brad Slawson, Sr.

Only government regulators could think UPS and Fedex are in different industries. They treat UPS like a trucking company that owns planes and FedEx like an airline that owns trucks. Click above to find out why it makes a difference and how to help change it. |
