Trustee/Business Agent

Larry Wedan started his Teamster career in 1978 at Briggs Transportation; shortly thereafter, in 1979, Larry began driving at Bancroft Dairy.  He worked at Bancroft in Madison, Wisconsin for 19 years before being hired as a Business Agent for Teamsters Local 695 in January of 1998.  Larry represented his members in grocery, warehouse, bakery, dairy, the public sector, and other industries with all of the fervor and efficacy that anyone could ask for.  His dedication and leadership as both a Business Agent and as Joint Council 39’s Bakery Chairman led to him being appointed as Recording Secretary of Local 695 in 2018.  Larry served in this role for three years before being asked to take on the role of Secretary-Treasurer and Principal Officer of Local 695.  He was subsequently re-elected by the membership in the next Local Union Election.
In 2024, Larry’s intense focus on leadership and the strength of the Local brought him to the point of seeking a merger with Local 120.  This merger would protect the members of 695 and strengthen them more than previously possible due to the political climate in Wisconsin.  In a rare move among leaders in any industry, Larry stepped down from the role of Principal Officer in order to merge with Teamsters Local 120.  He was subsequently appointed to the role of Trustee of Local 120, which he currently holds along with serving on the IBT Bakery Policy Committee.
