Tyler Barrett
Business Agent - South Dakota
Tyler’s union experience began at a young age with his father’s involvement with IBEW Local 1250 as a power lineman for Black Hills Power and Light. Growing up in a union household is why he is in this position today.
Tyler has been a Teamster since 2000 when he started working at UPS in Rapid City as a part time unloader. In 2005 he took a full time driving position and in 2008 he was elected as the union steward for the drivers in Rapid City. Shortly there after he became steward for all shifts in Rapid City. He was appointed as Business Agent in July of 2017. Tyler currently represents members in a variety of industries, including package, food service, drivers and freight.
In addition to his Business Agent position, Tyler is a member of Teamster Joint Council 32’s DRIVE (Democrat, Republican, and Independent Voter Education) political action committee.
Tyler is proud to serve as a Business Agent for Teamsters Local 120.
